Day 6

Well, we didn't fare so well in Oklahoma!  It was storming as soon as we woke and the forecast wasn't much different for the next couple of days.  So, we hit the road once again.  On our way out of Oklahoma, we visited The Washita Battlefield National Historical site and toured the museum.  This was the battle in which Gen Custer pretty much took out the Cheyenne Indians.  Norm and I were kinda depressed afterward but we motored on!  We decided we would drive as far as Amarillo, TX and sight see there for a day.  I have to say, we are getting mighty proficient at packing up the RV.  What used to take us 30 minutes now takes maybe 10!  We are also getting more comfortable in the larger RV parks, as demonstrated by the fact that I will actually go outside, under the awning, in the morning and drink coffee in my pajamas!  What other public place can you get away with that?  The boys are also getting more comfortable jumping on their bikes and checking out the sites.  Most of these places have fishing ponds so they have been doing a lot of that.   Especially today, when I did laundry (yeah, me!)  We are set up this evening in Fort Amarillo RV park after about 200 miles of driving.  We picked this one because of it's indoor pool.  So, the kids got some exercise (can't say the same for Norm or myself - yikes!), we grilled dinner, and the kids headed back to the pond for more fishing until bedtime.  Not sure what is on the agenda tomorrow other than we should be in Albuquerque, New Mexico at some point.  Until then!
