Day 7

We left the flat lands of Amarillo, TX this morning and traveled 250 miles to Albuquerque, New Mexico, "The Land of Enchantment".  The topography is really beautiful with red dirt and barren hills with rock outcrops.  Norm was really excited when he saw the speed limit was 75 MPH, until he realized the RV won't cruise automatically above 74 MPH.  He usually likes to go 10 miles over the speed limit so at least I could rest easy that we wouldn't be pulled over!  We stopped in Tucumcari, NM for lunch and ate Mexican at Pow Wow.  Bode and Chase got "dino nuggets" which I am sure they will regret one day once they realize they should have been a bit more adventurous with their orders.  Before we hit the road again, we visited Mesalands Dinosaur Museum.  It was a great way to break up the drive today.  Bode bought himself some amethyst and Chase bought a trilobite as souvenirs.  We are set up tonight in a KOA with the huge Sandia Mountains behind us.  Of course we hit the pool and with the two hour time difference, we are a bit tired!  So, we will get to bed early and be fresh for a day of adventure in those beautiful mountains.  Until then...
