I guess I should be begin with the fact that we had a small RV fire last night. Norm and I were settled back in the master bedroom watching "Book of Eli" (great movie) and the kid's were settled in their room in the main area of the RV. They like to pop some corn and watch a movie or kid show before lights out. So, we hear Bode scream, "The microwave is on fire!!!" Norm, with his quick reflexes, is able to contain it quickly and no harm done. Whew.
We woke up this morning with the anticipation of the water/amusement park. Can you believe the kids were up doing their "Summer Activity Books" at 7am? (yes, we are diligent, even on the road) It has been scorching temperatures so we were excited to get some relief. The park was about a mile from the KOA so a quick shuttle dropped us off just in time for opening. It was a great park, with lots of rides and no lines! Bode was a bit apprehensive about some of the roller coasters however Chase will ride ANYTHING! It was great because Norm and I took turns riding with Chase. Bode found some rides he was willing to endure so he did those particular ones over and over.
The water park was an oasis on a day like today. We spent 4 hours doing slides, lazy rivers, and the "toilet bowl" (I'm sure you can picture it). I spent a lot of time working on my tan and Norm ran around with the kids. As much as I like roller coasters, I am not a fan of water slides. Once they were sufficiently water-logged, we headed back to the KOA for some dinner. FYI, PF Chang's now has freezer section meals that are delicious ( I also love Alexia sides - yum!). They came in handy tonight as it started to rain again. Apparently we are in for some thunderstorms tonight! I LOVE storms in the RV as the hard rain hits the roof...puts me right to sleep.
So, now the kids are fishing again before calling it a day, catching these little things that could be eaten in one bite, but they are having fun. I'm not complaining.
I have turned a corner already in my 4 days of Rv'ing. We had originally planned on staying in a posh hotel the next two days thinking I would have already gone crazy. WELL, I cancelled the reservations and booked a KOA!!! Norm is so proud of me.
We have a long day on the road tomorrow - something like 7 hours! I like driving - people move out of the way which makes me feel important. We will end up in Oklahoma - pretty neat ranch apparently so, until then!
