Day 5
Wow, 450 miles traveled today. The longest pull of our trip (until the last day) and I am glad it's over! Thankfully, it was uneventful. I was a bit concerned about where we were spending the next two nights based on the scenery I was taking in along interstate 40. We pulled over in Sayre, OK and headed to Flying W Guest Ranch. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least! What a beautiful ranch with long horn steer, buffalo, and horses! It is breath taking with rolling green hills and a frontier town. We were directed to pull our RV into one of only 10 sites they have on the ranch. It is nestled between a pond and the grazing steer so definitely remote! We jumped on our bikes and headed to the frontier town and ate in the only restaurant available, named Sassy's. We ate buffalo burgers and steaks before spectating a "Play Day" for the surrounding ranches in which kids practice their riding skills and rodeo techniques. Boys Chase's age travel on the weekends and ride the bronco bulls! It was great and got the kids excited for our horseback riding tomorrow. Such a different way of life out here - very slow and easygoing. Everyone could tell we were tourists but were very friendly. Our guide tomorrow told us she would be moving cattle in the morning but would meet us at 10am to take us on the trails. Until then!
