Woke up bright and early in Bakersfield at the Williams house and got the kids ready for gymnastics camp. They were super pumped and their second cousin Michele was gracious enough to take them and hang out with them during their morning activities. They did lots of gymnastics stuff and then Michele gave them swimming lessons. While the kids were having fun, Norm and I were lounging around in our PJ's, drinking coffee, practicing putting on their greens, and jumping in their pool. Must say, it was nice and relaxing!
Needless to say, by the time we picked up the kids, they were dog-tired!!! We stayed at the gym and had lunch with Cammi, Mandy, Dee, Sheri, Mike, and the entire crew of kids. What a sweet moment as we were leaving when all the cousins hugged each other good-bye. Too cute! We certainly have a fantastic family! So, we had enough "baking" in Bakersfield and hit the road for Pismo Beach. We traveled 130 miles and ended up in Pismo Coast Village RV Park and Resort. Very nice! The weather here is absolutely perfect year-round averaging between 60-80 degrees. We didn't even properly set up the RV before we set out on foot to check out the beach. We kept walking along the beach until we arrived at Grandma and Grandpa's house in Grover Beach. So special to be able to visit with them. We admired their backyard and picked our own oranges for a snack. We made plans for lunch tomorrow and took off again on foot. We walked until we got downtown Pismo and ate lunch at a restaurant right at the pier - fish tacos, yum!!! Then we took a stroll on the pier and watched the fishermen. Of course, the kids want to go back tomorrow and do some fishing. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera but the sunset was beautiful! We headed back to the RV park and had a nice bonfire with roasted marshmallows. Sitting by the fire with sweatshirts on as it is 63 degrees! Another wonderful day! Until tomorrow...
